Does it matter what sort of tenants I have? Some policies don’t have any restrictions, while some may become invalid if you have students, housing benefit, DSS referrals or asylum-seekers in your properties. So check the terms and conditions carefully so the policy you get suits the market you are looking at. And keep your insurer up to date if things change – if new types of tenant move in your policy may lapse if you don’t pass on the information and pay an extra premium if required.
